I made a VET appointment for Skootch tomorrow morning. He has been hiding in the bedroom closet since yesterday morning, not eating and avoiding me. I'm worried about his bloody mat, that maybe it has become infected. John and I treated it on again on Sunday with a little bit of peroxide, so it should be better. I'm a worried mom. Now I'm worried that the VET might want to remove it and stitch Skootch and he'll have to wear a collar and take medicine and he will go into a decline the way he ALWAYS does when he goes to the VET. Can't win. I'll keep you posted.

Oh noes! We will certainly keep our paws crossed. We hate going to the cat fix-it place, too, but really, Skootch, it's for the best.
ReplyDeleteOh dear!!! He is hiding probably because he got scared from the shaving ordeal. You could ask the vet to give him an Antiobiotics injection that's good for two weeks (A bit costly but well worth it). That way you won't need to give him any medication at home. He might not even need a collar. We have all of our fingers, toes and paws crossed!!!!
ReplyDeletePurring he feels better soon. Poor guy, all over a darned mat.
ReplyDeleteSkootch, dear, bloody mats are scary for the humans. They don't know what it is and why it's there in the first place. If you can stand a warm bath or warm water on your tummy with the cleansing of baking soda dissolved in it, that's what's been tried on me. (It almost felt good, except for the water part) Whatever you do, it's for the best and will help you feel better and no more closet hiding!
