Our evening routine ends (or, used to end) with my putting the kitties to bed in the study upstairs. I lure them up there with treats, and they have a cosy warm room for the night. Skootch loves it, because he gets the run of the house for the night, and he gets to eat his food in peace. Well, all that has changed.....

Poor Louie - I was very busy last weekend, so I didn't post on his Gotcha Day. I'll try to make up for it. We actually had a belated celebration , so I'll post about that.

The other morning I came down to find  a mangled pile of green bits on the kitchen floor. I took me a while to figure out what it was. Then I realized that Louie had been doing his usual snoop in the sink, and had decided to play with my martini olive - and toys are always better when you chomp them, right??! I had a good laugh at his expense.

The visiting girl cat is so pretty and friendly! She seems very well-fed and tame. My guess is that someone recently moved into the neighborhood. I wish I knew who owns her, because I would try to get them to keep her inside. Our neighborhood is really dangerous for cats - we are at a very busy five-point intersection. Lots of traffic and fire engines and police patrol cars are roaring around at all hours. Sigh.

Of course, Wilbur is not in the picture. He is hiding in the next room. The visitor kitty wants to come in the house, but she doesn't want any competition from Skootch or Louie!

I heard a huge rumpus and crash, and then I saw Wilbur race out of the room. When I found him he was all puffed up, and he looked as if he'd seen a ghost.

Wilbur's world was shattered this morning when a pretty tiger girlcat showed up on the deck outside his window.

What is it about clean piles of white laundry and black cats??! The laundry seems to act as a cat nap magnet.

The kittehs have a favorite toy. I call him Stumpy. He is basically a mouse/rat toy with a fat stumpy tail. They find him extremely exciting, and have ripped out the rattle that was inside his belly. He is now just a pile of scraggly unravelled fluff with a stumpy tail, but they still think he's the bee's knees.
